    Bailey To The Top

Has the Homer Bailey contract signing surpassed the Frank Robinson trade as the worst move in Reds history?

How does overpaying someone who got hurt possibly compare to getting nothing in return for a Hall of Fame player still in his prime?
I dont care, Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. Hes in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.

They gave a pitcher who had never won more than 13 games and never posted an ERA under 3.50 120 million dollars over 6 years. Has to be in the top three dumbest moves by the Reds in my 40 plus years of being a fan.

Maybe it wasn't his best baseball.

Glad to see pitcher wins listed first since I knew I could stop reading after that

Pick any stat you want... Homer Bailey was never a 20 million dollar a year pitcher... Should have paid Cueto.

Why would the Reds have given Cueto a massive contract right after his injury plagued 2013 season?

Not sure why you'd post his non-snark adjusted ERA....

    Re: Bailey To The Top

Here is the logic that escapes me with the Bailey situation. The Reds evidently thought it was important enough to have an established leader of the staff to somewhat protect the kids while they develop that they gave him a $100 Million deal that no one thought was a good deal for the team. Yet, when his pitching elbow exploded twice, they didn't think it was important enough to get somebody else to do the job he was supposed to do. I'll never understand that one.

    Re: Bailey To The Top

Signing Bailey wasn't even the worst Reds move of the decade- the Chapman trade was.

I'd argue when all is said and done the AlfRod signing could be worse than the Bailey extension.
