I'm not sure how PSG is getting around FFP here, but whatver.

Sounds like Sanchez is staying. Arsenal tried to get Lemar and/or Draxler and neither happened and they aren't selling him without a replacement.

    PSG 3 Bayern 0

Does that mark a shift in the European balance of power?

PSG is going to be good this year, but I don't think their model is financially feasible long term.

I didn't watch the whole game today, but it was a lot closer than that scoreline.

Neuer was uncharacteristically bad yesterday. Not that it would have made the difference in result, but the first 2 goals he gets most of the time. He had a really bad game.

City looking spectacular against Chelsea at the moment, though only up 1-0.

Barcelona hosted Las Palmas in front of an empty stadium. Here in the U.S. we forget sports and politics are tightly intertwined in the rest of the word.

Just watched Brighton and Hove take 3 points on the road at West Ham. I know it's still early, but the team most pundits thought would be the most likely to be relegated is now sitting on 11 points in 10th place (for now).

Man City running away with the EPL early in the season with a 3-1 win over Arsenal today. Chelsea beats Man U 1-0. Conte ghosted Mourinho for the post-game handshake.

Arsenal just beat Tottenham 2-0. The 2-7 slots in the EPL are very tight at the moment, with Burnley magically in the mix.

Yep. Not expecting Burnley to stick around, so it's basically the six usual suspects slugging it out. For me, it's feeling like four teams fighting for two Champions league slots -- I am not seeing where either Manchester club is going to fall out of the top four.

Bumping the thread for transfer deadline day. Hasn't been much to talk about since the domestic leagues are mostly runaways and we haven't gotten into the Champions League knockouts yet. Anything surprise you so far in the winter transfer period?

The Aubameyang/Giroud/Batshuayi shuffle is interesting. Arsenal's added more speed up front. Why they never add a tough-as-nails DM with some passing range remains a mystery.

Coutinho to Barca and Van Dijk to Liverpool remains the biggest business of the window so far.

Interesting parallel with baseball - the cost for impact transfers had gotten so high, clubs are shying away from making moves. Real Madrid's had inconsistent scoring all season, but didn't make a single January move.

Arsenal should have sold Alexis over the summer, however I think they did about as good as they could considering how they messed that up. It also sounds like Ozil signed a 3 year extension. Now we get to focus on the thrilling Carabao Cup/Europa League double
