They should consider putting Ross on the PUP and keeping one of the receivers they are about to cut. I think that's six weeks? Not being able to practice will probably keep them from doing it, but would be nice since somebody will probably get hurt in those six weeks anyway, and it might save them a WR who will get picked up elsewhere.

Can't. Once you start practicing you can't be placed on PUP. Ross may be out a couple of weeks, if he is in game form by game 2-3 its not that big of a deal.

Yeah, whoops, think I'm thinking of IR with designation to return, but that's 8 weeks so doesn't make sense.

Don't like the Bullock move if that's true.

Well, I like it if they think the draft pick is a bust already, but how do you bust on a kicker when you took the first one overall? Especially embarrassing when he wasn't the consensus best pro prospect.

Bullock won the job. Elliott would have won it any of the last 20 years, but Bullock was money and has a great history of making 50+ kicks.

Shows there's new thinking by Mike Brown that he's willing to let go of a draft pick. Elliott didn't lose the job and he'll be kicking for someone before October gets here.

Trying to sneak J.J. Dielman onto the practice squad. He might get by. He's a keeper, but we have a roster crunch at Tackle and Andre Smith is needed, according to them, as a backup swing tackle and guard. Dielman makes the 53 next season, over Johnson. Redmond might stick.

Gilberry and Winston were obvious cuts.

Good job getting a conditional from the Cowboys for Benwikere.

Only thing that concerns me is if the game is on the line, Bullock isn't reliable, as was the case last season in Houston.

    More:

    Jim Owczarski
    @JimOwczarski

#Bengals will release DeShawn Williams - Sims, Atkins, Billings & Glasgow will be the tackles.

I was hoping Williams would develop but he never did. Billings will be a beast this year.

Will Clarke and Hardison gone too. Good to see cutting deadweight and admitting these two draft failures. Chris Smith makes the team, Gilberry cut. More good news...

    7 WR kept including Erickson

Both 5th rounders and 6th rounder Wilson also cut who they traded up for. So the comp strategy didn't exactly pan out (again) this year... And oddly no help from K or OL in the draft which were two of the biggest areas of need. Although looks like a home run early on for edge rushers

Yeah they should have selected Gonzalez instead of Elliot. TE Jeremy Sprinkle was taken one pick after Elliot in the 5th. Hoping that Deilman and Wilson make it to the PS this year. Wilson looks like a Swiss Army knife type that the Bengals could probably plug in later in the year if he's not too injured.

    Any word on Alex Redmond?

    Bengals made their cuts.

    http://www.bengals.com/news/article-...f-1d5b705fe443

I'd rather have Hardison instead of MJ, Dielman instead of Smith, TJ Ward instead of any Safety on the team.

Overall, I'm fine with their decisions.

I think that's why they kept him. We'll see.

Re: 2017 Bengals Season (Nobody's Burfict Edition)

That that the last preseason game means anything, but it's still live football at full speed with all the Coaches game-planning and coaching. More importantly, every player was playing for their NFL career...that's high pressure.

From all 15 games, one player had the highest overall grade from ProFootballFocus, and he was...

Linebacker: Jordan Evans, Cincinnati Bengals, 94.9 overall grade.

Evans’ grade represents the highest individual overall mark of the week, and he accomplished this in just 18 total snaps. He racked up six solo tackles, all of them going for stops. He also limited receivers to two catches for one total yard on four throws into his coverage, with both incompletions coming due to him breaking up passes.

    Also of note...

QB AJ MCCARRON, 86.7 OVERALL GRADE

McCarron wasn’t expected to play as much as he did tonight, but an injury to No. 3 QB Jeff Driskell meant he played almost the entire game (64 snaps), and though he wasn’t helped out by some of his supporting cast, he nonetheless made some big plays and had a passer rating of 100.7 when under pressure.
