I'd rather have Hardison instead of MJ, Dielman instead of Smith, TJ Ward instead of any Safety on the team.

Overall, I'm fine with their decisions.
You didn't want to keep Chris Smith? He couldn't have looked better

You may want to read that comment closer.

...and it sucks because the Rams smartly claimed Dielman. Nobody would have claimed Andre Smith. Nobody claimed Elliott or Wilson either.

    Bengals' practice squad:

LB Brandon Bell (Penn State), K Jake Elliott (Memphis); OT Kent Perkins (Texas); DT Josh Tupou (Colorado); WR Kermit Whitfield (Florida State); DT DeShawn Williams (Clemson); RB Jarveon Williams (Texas-San Antonio); S Brandon Wilson (Houston)

I don't understand the point of keeping Williams. He's bad and not getting it. DT's can blossom after 4, 5, and six years...see Frostee Rucker,...but he doesn't seem to be one who can.

    Good news...

    From Hobson...

_Iloka (knee), who didn’t play in the preseason, says he’s got the fresh legs of a rookie. In the first injury of the report of the year Wednesday, he was listed as full go, along with tight end Tyler Eifert (knee), starting running back Jeremy Hill (ankle), and wide receiver Tyler Boyd (hamstring). Staring safety Shawn Williams (elbow), backup wide receiver John Ross (knee) and back-up tight end C.J. Uzomah (ankle) were again on the rehab field and are trending to out for Sunday.

    More good news...

Ross practiced today. Doesn't mean he'll be ready for next Thursday's game, but he's ahead of schedule.

Bengals working on an extention with Burfict I would imagine something around 4-5 yrs in length at 10-12 per season...
If you have a losing record at Reds games, please stop going.

and it's a done deal at 3 yrs and 38 million....

Nice deal for this team if he can keep himself on the field.

So why not take the 3 game suspension and be done with it? Or he could fight it, lose - which most assuredly he will - and serve the suspension in November and/or December? He'll lose because the precedent has been set with Brady.
    He's got the money now.

It's low-risk by the Bengals because they don't pay suspended players. His concussion history is a risk, but the guy was PFF's #1 ranked 4-3 OLB last season. When he's on the field, the Bengals are dominant at the first two levels with him, Atkins and Dunlap. If they can get some above average play out of their Corners and/or Safeties, this is a Top-5 Defense again after falling to middle-of-the-road last season. Minter, Lawson, Vigil and Jordan will be huge upgrades over Dansby and Maualuga that wil make the second level better, too. It's already a given that Willis and Smith are huge upgrades over Peko, Shaun Williams, Gilberry and the fewer snaps that MJ will now play. If we get average play from the Secondary, which I think is the minimum we get from them, this is still a Defense ranked 7th through 13th.

    He certainly does.

I wonder how the people feel about this deal that wanted him off the team after that playoff game against the Steelers.

It shows the Bengals value Burfict. They know what they've got it him. If they let him go, he'd sign with the Steelers or the Raiders in an instant and would be a star.
