Man this sucks, I first remember Tom Petty with his "Last Dance With Mary Jane" video. Kinda creepy video if you ask me!

I used to sing some of the lyrics to my daughter when she was younger. I used to say "She was an American 'Big' Girl" hoping that she would rather be that than a princess, I lost.

I can’t argue but I have to say 20+ years later Wildflowers holds up tremendously well.

TMZ is reporting he's not dead but near death.

The only time in my life that I've been "high" was sitting in the 2nd to last row at a Tom Petty concert about 22 years ago at what I believe was the Columbus convention center. Weed has never touched my lips (in any form), doubt it ever will at this point of my life, but the contact high sitting near the top of the arena was enough to give me a little "experience". Absolutely great show, one of the best concerts I've ever seen, despite Tom being so far away. RIP Tom, loved a ton of your work.

Sounds like while critical Petty is fortunately still alive, accurate info seems hard to tell from fake:

Wow. I can't believe this. I just caught his tour when it was here back in June. This sucks.

In one of the archived articles Rolling Stone threw up today Petty mentions how he is now upset “Zombie Zoo” made it onto Full Moon Fever. What great self-awareness. I often pass on listening to that album due to that song.

He truly is a musician’s musician.

Petty was a classic rocker who is gone way too soon. RIP Tom Petty

I have had this song in my head since I heard of hi death. A great duet with Stevie Nicks.

Was on my way home just now and listening to "Don't Come Around Here No More" ... got home and saw this! I'm in utter shock!
