I consider Schebler an average RF defensively. Pretty good range, can fill in as a CF in a pinch (though below average as a CF). Average arm at best, weak in comparison to most other RF's.

Winker's defense is poor. Probably not as bad as Dunn, but as bad as (or maybe worse than) Gomes.

I suspect Winker's D in LF is about average. As a RF, he's poor.

MLB.com gives him a 45 and calls him average because of arm. Then, they still give Trammell a 50 arm so there's that.

Winker in 2017 didn't look average for even a softball league. Hopefully he gets better.
Wait until the year after next year.

GG finalists are being announced. So far, Barnhart and Votto are finalists.

Reds shut out at short and third. No Cozart, no Suarez.

    Duvall a finalist again.

Agreed, he doesn’t hit well enough to win a GG.

Reds with four 2017 GG finalists.

    Barnhart, Votto, Duvall, Hamilton.

Suarez was not among the third base finalists, which is disappointing.

I'm really happy for all four of those guys (I'm a little salty that Suarez was left out...) but I'm especially over the moon for Tucker. That's awesome!

David Freese is a GG finalist? I realize some metrics liked him this season, but we should be able to recognize that as a glitch. I'm not say it had to be Geno instead, but Freese is just ... no.

Any other team have 4 finalists? That sounds like a lot

Reds should get some credit for the team defense.

Duvall and Hamiton were converted from IF to OF. Barnhart was not a hot shot prospect, Reds stuck with him. Reds moved Suarez to third, worked out well.

Votto, he just went to work on defense this year.

My hope is that the Reds figure out how to work this kind of magic with pitchers.

Barnhart may not have been a hot shot prospect, but he was considered outstanding defensively from the day he entered the organization.

The Reds get credit for sticking with Barnhart all this time. He’s only getting defensive accolades because he has the opportunity to play.

He’s been helped by Mesoraco’s injury. He’s also been helped by the Reds’ patience and appreciation of his skills. He wasn’t the most obvious candidate to get all this MLB playing time.
