I see your point, but suspect the stolen base (or threat thereof) is often an underrated weapon here on RedsZone. And perhaps across all of sabermetrics.
On redszone, probably. In real sabermetrics? Absolutely not.

SteelSD played around with a speed adjusted OPS about 10 years ago on RZ.

I think speed tends to be undervalued in certain situations. I would argue that it becomes more important when playing against an elite pitcher that does not figure to make many mistakes in the zone or give up multiple hits in an inning. The risk of stretching a hit or stealing a base has a relatively better payoff when the BAA of the pitcher is .200 versus .300.

quick and dirty ...... stolen bases- 2(cs) x .666 = add that total to Total base figure.... quick example: guy steals 50 bases and gets caught 10 times. 50 - 2(10) x.666= 20 bases ....if the batter has 150 total bases you add 20 bases to total = 170 total bases. I know it's not sexy and there will be some years where the value is off but it's a quick dirty way to see the value of stolen base with re to Slugging percentage.
