Re: 2017-18 NBA Season Part II: Electric Boogie-lu

Washington is so much better without John Wall. I keep repeating this ever since Nate Archibald was declared this "great" player. There was absolutely nothing great about Nate Archibald. He was the Westbrook (nothing great about him, either) of his day. Archibald would have had normal stats for a point guard from his time had his usage rate not been Westbrookian at the time. Few people saw him play, especially live, many times, and had they been honest about it, they would have recognized that anyone in the league would have put up similar numbers had the ball been in their hands as much.

Basketball, winning basketball, something Westbrook is and Archibald was, clueless about, is about five players, plus a subcast of three or four more, all working together............on both..........ends of the floor to produce a superior product. LeBron has always understood this, and it's one of the great things about him. Shaq understood it (a lot more than Kobe). All the Warriors understand it (though Steph forgets from time to time).

John Wall is clueless about it, apparently, and needs to be traded away from the Wizards. They are so happy without him, and are a real team, a much better team.

So often, it takes an injury to fix a team when the problem is their most physically gifted player whose ego is too big to take instructions. This is why I've never worried about a Westbrook team. As long as he's on it, they aren't going anywhere.

Another great win by the Wizards tonight. It took a team playing exceptionally well to stop their winnng streak. Likewise, it took a team playing exceptionally well to stop tge Sixers' streak.

I love my Jazz, but the Rockets are a horrible match up for them (they are for most teams). I hope they keep it to 20 or less.

I hope Harden spends the day in Park City skiing and is too tired to play.

Houston is favored by only 2-1/2.

Find it surprising that Indiana is only favored by 2-1/2 @ Dallas tonight.

It wouldn't surprise me one way or the other who wins the Jazz-Rockets match-up. If you put a gun to my head, I'd go Houston.

Noticed Tarik Black was in the starting lineup. Not good. It seems that Clint Capela, Brandan Wright and Ryan Anderson are all out. Eric Gordon probably will not play. Nene isn't starting in place of Capela, so maybe he is out as well.

    Update: Nene is playing.

If the Sixers sign Ersan Ilyasova (as has been reported), sources say that Philadelphia may waive Trevor Booker. Plenty of NBA teams, especially contenders, are monitoring that situation. If waived, Booker would receive plenty of interest as a free agent.

The Pistons are well on the way to their 6th loss in 7 games since the Redszone Kiss-of-Death was put on them. Their only win was at home against the G-League Atlanta Hawks.

With 4:30 left in the first half, the Jazz were up 15 (44-29). The Rockets held them scoreless the rest of the half, and scored 10 in a row to get back into the game. It wasn't pretty but the Rockets prevail 96-85. Houston shot just 28.1% from distance. 13 in a row and counting.

Neither team could shoot. Mitchell and Ingles were combined 2-14 from three. Not going to beat anyone let alone Houston with that.

    And they still by double-digits.

Harden, Lillard, Jokic and A.D. are one-upping each other the last six games.

Yeah...it was noted at the time, their 5 game winning streak was all at home with 4 teams coming in on a 2nd of a back-to-back. Never thought the key was Griffin, but is Reggie Jackson, and unfortunately, he's taking too long to get back. Detroit's loss is Charlotte's gain.
