Washington is so much better without John Wall. I keep repeating this ever since Nate Archibald was declared this "great" player. There was absolutely nothing great about Nate Archibald. He was the Westbrook (nothing great about him, either) of his day. Archibald would have had normal stats for a point guard from his time had his usage rate not been Westbrookian at the time. Few people saw him play, especially live, many times, and had they been honest about it, they would have recognized that anyone in the league would have put up similar numbers had the ball been in their hands as much.
Basketball, winning basketball, something Westbrook is and Archibald was, clueless about, is about five players, plus a subcast of three or four more, all working together............on both..........ends of the floor to produce a superior product. LeBron has always understood this, and it's one of the great things about him. Shaq understood it (a lot more than Kobe). All the Warriors understand it (though Steph forgets from time to time).
John Wall is clueless about it, apparently, and needs to be traded away from the Wizards. They are so happy without him, and are a real team, a much better team.
So often, it takes an injury to fix a team when the problem is their most physically gifted player whose ego is too big to take instructions. This is why I've never worried about a Westbrook team. As long as he's on it, they aren't going anywhere.
Another great win by the Wizards tonight. It took a team playing exceptionally well to stop their winnng streak. Likewise, it took a team playing exceptionally well to stop tge Sixers' streak.
