Very few teams have the kind of young talent and deep pockets to do this trade.

You know what I think would be really, really funny?: if the Reds traded Votto to Toronto for Guerrero, Bichette, and cash. And then Joey vetoed the deal. It would be even funnier if Votto pulled a "Brandon" and offered his consent to the deal if the teams kicked in an extra quarter-billion to him.

The guy has a no-trade clause, he's playing great, he's worth the money, he'll still be good the next time the Reds are good, and he claims to want to stay in the Cincinnati. Why not embrace the guy and propose save the hypothetical trade threads for guys that the Reds' brass actually has the discretion to trade?

Oh yeah, well can you please explain why you have flip flopped on the issue from a few years ago?

Because he is one year removed from playing 162 games, I am not ready to call him fragile. I still think he will prove worth the money.
    This clearly shows...um...never mind.

. Thanks for noticing. Still plenty of time for me to be wrong, but i’d Rather bet on Joey than just about anyone
