    6:40 start times

Looking at the Reds schedule for 2018 it looks like they are starting weeknight home games in April and September at 6:40 p.m. I'm guessing this is to entice kids in school to go to games. Thoughts?

Love it. I've noticed that it's hard to get child care past 5:00 anymore, so families should be able to get there in plenty of time. I also think most would rather see the end of the game vs the beginning of the game.

I'd guess cold April nights also played a factor in this decision.

Back when we were still in Boston and shared Red Sox tickets, we took our very young daughter to a few weekday afternoon games, and that was our operating philosophy. We knew she could not last anywhere close to a whole game, so we used to aim to show up in the 5th inning.

The way they've played the last few years, let's get the games over with as early as possible. Why ruin the whole night?

I get the idea but personally it kinda sucks for those of us coming home from work in the central time zone.

For sport in general, its much easier to be in Central and Mountain time zones. So yea I don't feel all that bad for your guys!

DVR, skip the first few sets of commercials, and you'll be caught up when the good stuff happens! Ideally...haha.

Cleveland tried it this year and they seemed to get a positive response. I love the move, especially as games continue to get longer.

Not good for those of us involved in high school baseball/softball. Makes it much easier to not watch the game.

Also not good for those of us who have to travel to get to the game.

Overall, I have to give a thumbs down to this.

Games will still end at the same time, you're just going to see some more commercials.

I like it for April. Not quite as much for September.
