I was hoping they'd get McGlinchey at 12. Now hoping for a linebacker. Vander Esch would be ideal. Could also see them going Safety. You mentioned Reid. Ronnie Harrison is another.

This is who http://www.drafttek.com lists on their big board from 21 to 43:

Vander Esch is a rare LB mold. He has a very high ceiling. Reid, he just has one of the most versatile skill sets of any DB in the draft. I think he's one of the safest picks in general.

Im hoping for Will Hernandez now. Double up on the line.

Another option is Mike Gesicki from Penn State, but is rather double up on the line and take Hayden Hurst in the third.

Andrew Whitworth signed a 3 year, $33,750,000 contract with the Los Angeles Rams, including a $5,000,000 signing bonus, $15,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $11,250,000. In 2018, Whitworth will earn a base salary of $8,000,000 and a roster bonus of $2,500,000, while carrying a cap hit of $12,166,666 and a dead cap value of $5,833,334.

They should have just kept Whitworth.

They should have kept Whit for 2017, for sure, but going forward this looks to be a better situation given age and given he can be cut with no cap hit if something goes wrong.

We passed on Steven Jackson and Vince Wilfolk to get O'Neil. I wouldn't say that worked out well.

Five games of Glenn are better than nothing, which is what you get from Ogbuehi or a Rookie from Notre Dame.

I still would have moved Boling last year and this year over to LT, and replaced LG, but this is very positive. We are also good at drafting in that #21 area.

Mike Brown doesn't have a history of admitting his mistakes, and he's basically doing this here. That's a huge step for the organization.

And not to mention traded down again with the Rams who took Steven Jackson.

The Bengals took Chris Perry, who basically was a third down back who led all NFL RBs with receiving yards his rookie season. Considering who the Bengals passed on though, it was a bust.

Whitworth's agent structured that contract well. After it expires he's eligible for Social Security.

The lowest acceptable payroll amount for ownership to show they are not greedy pigs is 15 million more than they are currently paying. No matter what that currently is.

There is zero reason to crap on this, even for BobSheed. They get Glenn for slightly cheaper than what Whit would have cost and Glenn is 28. Worst case (and there is always a worst case), he can't get over the foot injuries and is useless. If so, they can cut him after this year with no cap hit. And all indications are he should be available for on-field work by May. And getting the Bills' 5th round pick for our 6th gives the Bengals three picks in round 5 now. So that's nice. Agree above, Mike Brown doesn't usually admit mistakes, much less move to fix them. I am delighted with this, and find some hope returning.

They've had luck in the 5th round too, I think their draft philosophy of taking talented guys who drop does well the more picks they have. (And it's pretty clear to me that's what they do draft time, at least a lot of the time.)

Here's hoping they have another Marvin Jones/George Iloka 5th round.

Crazy to think that guy's got nearly a 42 inch vertical. In comparison, Hurst's is 31.5.

I agree, though, Hurst would be an absolute steal with one of the two 3rd round picks. I love the way he plays the game.

I don't call it luck. They simply have a better scouting department where Brown listens to them than most teams.

If they'd had another 5th a few years ago, they would have Hicks, instead of Philly having him. They really are good in the 5th.
