No team in the NCAA was better at getting on base, yet they used the bunt a lot as a tool to set up runners into scoring position by the players not as good at hitting so the players who were better at hitting had more chances to drive someone in.

Beavers understood clutch hitting. No team was better at delivering with two outs or in late-inning situations. That's how you win Championships. That's why the poor-hitting Mariners are 8-0 in extra-innings this year and lead the Majors in one-run victories.

No shame in that. Ball State was pretty damn good. IIRC they beat Louisville the next game and damn near beat UNLV after that. The Rebels won the title.
