Hawaii's new tourism slogan: Don't come here. Give some money to charity or whatever instead.
LV: What happens in Vegas is meaningless. Give to Charity instead (And not the one at Olympic Gardens!)

What would you say.....ya do here?
Just got back from Vegas. It was amazing as always. Maui in November.
Saw Jerry Seinfeld in Vegas. Hopefully $150/ticket wasn't too much!

I saw The National in Vegas in January, best concert I have ever seen. Are concerts also bad

I've sat in Diamond seats a few times, it's fine.
Your price levels of things you find offensive seem pretty arbitrary though.
I would be surprised if you have ever seen good live theatre - I'm not a Broadway guy myself really, but describing it as a live movie is hilariously wrong.

I paid for my nieces to see it in Chicago, so I guess by RTG's standards I'm doubly stupid lol

I hate broadway with its over-dramatic-too-much-vibrato singers over acting and trying to zero in on the pitch and what not but Hamilton and Come from Away (if I may add another one that fully filled my spirit) are both great shows. As a pro musician I know many of the musicians in both shows and they are worth every penny and so is the cast. It's a Nike gig to see them both.

Sigh, I know you aren’t stupid, you know I know you’re not stupid and respect you from our discussions on the P&R board.
I regret saying it makes me question people’s IQ willing to spend that much money on a musical ticket. I’m not going to delete it, because I’m just being honest about my feelings on the matter, though.
I have seen my fair share of live theater. My wife enjoys it. I’ve seen All The Way starring Bryan Cranston on Broadway - that was probably my favorite (ticket was like $80), Wicked, The Lion King, Kinky Boots, and a few others I’m blanking on. There’s a really nice theater district in Cleveland and there was actually a nice theater in Charlotte that got some good stuff. I’m usually bored out of my mind at the musicals, just doesn’t really do much for me. They always come off as just so amateurish and corny. However, it’s just difficult for me to stomach the idea of spending $1000+ on pretty much any live event. I mean, hell, I got tickets to 5 different games at the 06 World Cup for a total of like $450, and I remember thinking that was a lot of money.
The reaction in this thread is making me think I am the crazy person, though.

I just meant when I think vacation experiences I’m personally not thinking casinos, which I view as depressing places.
Hawaii, though, absolutely.

No worries man. In all seriousness, something I decided last year was to way downgrade in certain areas so that I could spend more on travel and things like this.
I'm driving a Nissan Leaf now, I have cut way down on groceries and eating out, some other stuff. And we are taking more trips as a family, traveling more in general, and just trying to put the money into things like that more. Hamilton was a big time splurge, but I had free flights to New York, free hotel (credit card sign up points gaming got both), and so we saw a few shows and that was all we spent on a weekend in New York. We even mostly ate street food instead of doing the NYC restaurant thing.
Totally worth it, it really will be a trip I'll remember the rest of my life. 10-15 years ago I probably never would have thought I'd spend that much on Broadway, but my perspective has changed a little bit.

To each his own. People have different values. What works for me may not work for you. Doesn’t make me better or you better.
But I’d pay $1000 to see the Reds in a WS Game 7.

Oh. And I’ll say this. I paid $450 for 2 tickets to see Paul McCartney at US Bank Arena. We sat about a Jose Peraza to Joey Votto throw from Paul and that show was the highlight of my last 40 years. It was everything I ever wanted and more. I told my wife “I can die now”. I would have paid double or triple for the tickets.
