Because in the Majors, things are generally diagnosed quicker, and discussed with the player quicker, thus you get the info quicker. Let's use someone hurting their elbow, for example. If a Reds pitcher does it, they can get an MRI at GABP or whatever stadium they are at. Right then and there. If a Tortugas pitcher hurts their arm, they aren't getting an MRI that day. They go to the team (minor league) doctors office the next day, probably, and get an MRI. They may then wait a day or two to get those results read. That's not happening in the Majors. By that time, a guy's had his MRI by the team doctor and flown to Alabama to have Dr Andrews give them a second opinion if the first one sucked and it wasn't a full tear.

Minor Leaguers just aren't as important. As stupid as that is to say out loud. It takes longer to diagnose certain injuries with them because the turn around on doctors is longer. If it's a hammy pull, yeah, the trainer can diagnose that. If they need to get something looked at inside the body for a wrist/elbow/knee/shoulder kind of thing? It's just going to take longer to get everything done. So it's going to take longer for someone to be able to answer the question, if it's even asked in a normal amount of time by comparison, because Joe Tortugas Fan isn't exactly invested in if Daniel Sweet's ankle is feeling great like Joe Reds fan is about Jesse Winker's shoulder.

I 100% get that. But how does HIPAA play into a lack of minor league injury info (as opposed to MLB)? When I asked what the issue was, you led with HIPAA.

Because they can't just say we think it's this, unless the player gives the ok. And so they need to wait for results to come in. Which, in the minor leagues, takes longer.
