    2019 Draft Class

    Never too early, right?

If I had to call my shot though, I don't think the Reds will finish with the worst record and subsequent first overall pick. Probably top 3 though. The White Sox, Royals, and Marlins are all gonna be really bad this year too.

If you're looking for a tagline, maybe "Play Like **** for Witt" works.

Don't know much, but watched some tape of Zack Thompson and I really don't like his throwing motion. It looks violent, seems like an arm injury waiting to happen. I'd avoid.

Take that expert opinion based off of a youtube video for what you will.

I watch a lot of FSU games, my cousin (once removed) is a Freshman reliever on the team, and Drew Mendoza is a stud out there for sure. Makes all the plays and all the tough ones too. That's all can add for now.

Looking ahead to the 2019 draft class...

Perhaps a shade early, but I'm sure lists exists already of the top prospects for next years draft (at the moment)

As of the conclusion of the draft, the Reds sit (tied) with the 3rd least amount of wins, a very good chance that they draft in the top 5 yet again. I think we all thought/hoped this would be the last year for a long time that the Reds would draft in the top 5, or even top 10. Anyhoo.... start the discussion.

Give me Logan Davidson or Bobby Witt Jr please. Will be fun to monitor their progress over the next 12 months.

    From yesterday's chat:

    1:29
Cory: Who is the early favorite for #1 overall next year?

    1:30
Kiley McDaniel: Bryson Stott SS at UNLV, Hunter Barco prep lefty in Jacksonville are two of the main names but that will clear up a bit in the next month.

Man, that’s what scares me about India. He wasn’t even on the Fangraphs list last year.

And 14 months ago Scooter Gennett was released by the Brewers because he was going to make 2.5M and he was a solid-at-best hitter.

Things change, and when you are talking about 20-year-old athletes, things can change big time and in a very, very short period of time.

That's always the 'thing' with young players in just about every sport. It only takes one really great season to gain them plenty of internet adoration even if they never have another great season.
How many times have we seen an apparent nobody suddenly come from out of nowhere to take the league(s) by storm, play great one season then fizzle out the rest of their careers? Sometimes the best we can hope for is that one magic season happens at the same time as the rest of the team(s) he's on when you have all the lineup hitting over .275 and pitchers all tossing with ERA's under .300..
OK, so I love to dream. So sue me..

Adam Rosales was my first experience with this situation.
The television crews left and about 10 reporters remained in the room. That's when Price took his turn doing the talking.
What followed was a five-minute, 34-second expletive-filled tirade. The final tally was 77 uses of the "F" word or a variant and 11 uses of a vulgar term for feces (two bovine, one equine).

He was also highly touted out of HS, and chose to go to UF. A couple "meh" seasons, but then he changed his body composition, made some other adjustments, and tore it up. Things change greatly over the course of a year.
