Yes those Reds Dodgers game in the 70s and beginning of the 80s were always huge. I remember as a kid sneaking a transistor radio to bed to listen to the Reds Dodgers games
First game I remember going to was Reds/Dodgers in 81. Reds lost 2-1 to Bob Welch. Joe Nolan (remember him?) homered. Lopes drove in the winning run in the top of the 9th. 6 year old me hated him from that day forward.

Mahle will be lucky to go five innings at this point.

I remember attending a Reds Dodgers DH on Memorial Day back when DHs were regularly scheduled and I think that was probably 80 or 81. I remember almost getting drilled by a line drive hit by Dusty Baker that day

Should have been like 15 pitches and 0 runs. Instead, 33 pitches and a run.

Fly ball from Puig ends the inning

30+ pitches to get through it after the costly error.

Hopefully the bullpen is ready to throw some innings tonight unless Mahle settles in and has some super quick innings.
