The Reds have gotten some decent parts from the Farm the last couple of years, but I'm thinking by the deadline next season we'll have some guys on the verge of debuting that could really help open a 3 or 4 year window for the club (with two or three judicious additions from the outside).

I wouldn’t say that. The pitching was just really awful. I do think he has a good eye but in the two days I saw him play basically all he did was walk. I think he needs to move up and get better pitching like Senzel did last year. Siani looked great by the way.

I remember one time going out to the mound to talk with Bob Gibson. He told me to get back behind the batter, that the only thing I knew about pitching was that it was hard to hit.

Don't look now, but Jose Garcia is starting to hit. A little.

In his last 30 days, his BA is .277.

In July, it's .293 with an OBP of .354.

In a relatively lost season so far, perhaps this is a positive first step.

    Baby steps.

Felt like starting at Dayton was way too aggressive at start of season. Very encouraging that he has adjusted and has started swinging a solid bat. Has anyone got a report on the glove? Good bet to stick in middle of infield?
