Fairly big dollars for an NDFA. Found this write up on his all star selection

Koch – He started his summer with 15.0 shutout innings, and the Western Illinois rising senior emerged as one of the top bullpen arms in the Cape League. Koch has a minuscule 0.81 ERA in his 22 innings pitched, and leads the team with nine appearances. Koch is in his second summer with the Commodores, earning his way to a full season’s stay for another summer.

I give the Reds credit for leaving few stones unturned. It seems to me that the Reds have new confidence in their ability to develop pitchers. It is an area that is key to their small market success.

“I came out here and teams said, ‘We’ll give you a shot if you make the all-star team,’” he said.

Koch became the first WIU player to be chosen a Cape Cod All-Star by posting a 0.82 ERA in his first nine outings. He gave up no runs in his first six appearances.

“I was able to not give up any runs for the first month and get the all-star selection, and they said that wasn’t enough,” Koch said. “They said I had to throw 95 (mph) in the all-star game, and I hit 95.”

That's quite the chip on his shoulder.

'bout damn time the Reds had a guy like that. I mean openly chippy.
