I think I’m starting to get fed up with baseball?

Why would they not just go ahead and do it then and get it out of the way?

Greene has to be willing to do it, and players generally don't elect for prophylactic surgery.

Seriously. This way he only misses the 2019 season and not more time. It’s actually probably the best time in the year and in his career for something like this to happen, if there is such a thing.

Dumb random fan speculation - I don't remember Greene hitting 100 consistently (occasionally, but not every pitch) until he threw every fastball over 100 at the Futures Game. Was he overthrowing in that showcase and is that where the trouble started?

Shouldn't we have actually expected this? 102 mph at age 18?

This is really discouraging. Greene obviously had #1 potential.

WWCWS? (What would Chris Welsh say?)

Only if they can rework his contract to send him to the minors.

    Sigh.
Well, that's what those words mean. He was here. If they don't keep him, he will have been lost/subtracted. I headed out the door today with two shoes on my feet. If I don't return with them, I have lost them. If I do return with them, I haven't added them. ---M2

Would work if I hadn't also been told he was going to pitch on the road trip.

Who says it’s not? If he’s gonna need TJ, do it now.

This is so discouraging. And if this kind of stuff doesn’t start changing the way organizations value pitching, I’d be shocked.
