Hunter Greene sprained UCL- out for rest of season

Cincinnati sports are just cursed period. In Greene's last start last week he started the game first pitch with the fatest pitch in Dragons history 102 MPH but left after 2 innings at the time they said he was just sick to his stomach.

A hard thrower like him just trying to rehab does not sound promising at all

Just to put a mildly positive spin on this, Greene turns 19 on Monday. Even if this goes to worst-case scenario and he needs surgery, he'll still be young on the other side of it.

Greene will need to learn to tone down the Velo a bit. I honestly dont think its possible for the human arm to throw 100+ and go 6+ innings a start for a whole season. Especially not at his age. Either that or make him a reliever but obviously were not there yet.

I shudder to think about what kind of pitcher he would be without off the charts velocity. He is already extremely hittable as is.

Less hits than innings pitched and over 11 strikeouts per 9 is “extremely hittable?”

I don't care how highly regarded the guy is, it's never a good idea to draft a high school pitcher that high. Even if he stays healthy, the odds are stacked against him. And serious injury is so common. In Greene's case, you also have to add in the fact that he had been treated with kid gloves. This isn't hindsight -- it was all true at the time of the draft.
