Stephens has served a purpose, strictly to eat some innings, but he shouldn’t return next year, unless it’s strictly at AAA.

Your point stands but as far as Stephens is concerned unfortunately he never was (nor would be with proper development) MLB caliber.

Stephens line the last two nights:

1.1 IP 5H 5 ER 2 BB 0 SO, both in games that were close. I'd fire Riggleman right now if I could. Guess that's why I'm not the GM

How is it that clubs carry three or four more pitchers than they did 30 years ago, yet more position players are pitching than ever before?
Eric Stratton, Rush Chairman. Damn glad to meet ya.

I think teams realize at some point a game is a lost cause and it makes zero sense to burn any bullpen innings at all. I get it. But one day a team is gonna score 30 runs.

Reds are on pace now to win 68 games. That sounds familiar.

Here's a list of Reds pitchers that should put on a boat sail as far away from Cincinnati as possible!

    Bailey
    Stephenson
    Stephen's
    Brice
    Finnegan
    Peralta

And then you have Romano, Mahle and even Castillo at times. Not saying they need to be on the boat but there inconsistencies is troubling. But notice this, all pitcher are young with the exception of Bailey. This is all on the Developmental department or the lack of. They should be put on notice!!

They suck...I'm so sick of it. They haven't developed one damn pitcher.

Watching press conferences from the manager after games, I am amazed that the Reds' media is so weak in asking the tough questions. The Pittsburgh media grills their manager and that's true of almost every club. Riggleman is better than Price (he was horrible), but never has to take a tough question. At least they didn't play it if he did.

    That's called momentum.
