Who Will Be On The Coaching Staff?

I’m very interested to see who Bell brings onto his staff. Any thoughts?

    Candidates?

    Eric Davis-Hitting Coach
    Tom Browning-Pitching Coach
    Dave Duncan -Pitching Coach
    Farrell-Pitching Coach
    Pedro Martinez-Pitching Coach
Sean Casey-Hitting Coach or Bench Coach

    Scott Rolen-Bench Coach
Larry Bowa-Bench Coach (Bell Mentioned him as a manager he admired)

I'll take the field over literally any single one of those people making this coaching staff.

I just saw that McGwire resigned in SanDiego to "spend more time with his family". Wonder if he's got another gig lined up somewhere. Not advocating for him, just observing.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

I'd wager at least half of the guys already on staff will stay.

I’ll say John Farrell is either going to be the Bench coach or pitching coach. Can see Joe Oliver, John Mabry, Ted Powers, Eric Davis, Mike Matheny possibly on the staff.

I thought about Matheny as well. Cardinal background not only the cast connection, but Bell too. I think he's a sleeper candidate as bench coach. No idea if it's a good idea or not. My guess is it won't matter.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

I wonder if they'll have open tryouts for the bullpen "snitch" if Matheny is brought on board?

an idea for the coaching staff. Jim Coombs. Noone else. Jim Coombs doesn't need other coaches. or players. Jim Coombs can win by himself from the first bas coaching box. If Jim Coombs wants to.
I've been to dinner at Jimmy Buffet's house, and I've eaten it at a homeless shelter. And there's great joy and harrowing terror to be found in both places.

Rolen is going into his first year as IU's Director of Player Development, so doubt he'll be with the Reds, but you never know.

I don't want anymore former Reds in a weak attempt to remember the "Glory Days"

    I want qualified and capable.
