From what I read his death sounded like a planned indirect execution for him. He had been transferred to a different prison and someone had said this was his death sentence. Apparently this prison must have had some of his crime enemies in it just waiting for him. Good riddance.

I'm not sure we want our prison system carrying out extra-judicial punishments, no matter how repugnant the criminal.

I always thought Whitey Bulger was a criminal from the 20s-30s. I didn't realize he was still alive up to recently.

It's been a good week for Boston. First, the Red Sox win the WS, and then Whitey Bulger gets brutally murdered by other brutal murderers.
Yeah, vigilante justice is bad, but I feel as bad about this as when Jeffery Dahmer got murdered. Bulger's killer will probably get a similar sentence as Dahmer's.
