Canned green beans are vastly superior to fresh. Fresh ones taste disgusting. The one people always call me out on is putting fish sticks in the microwave because I like them chewy and soggy instead of in the oven so they're crunchy. Apparently that one only makes sense to me

I'll bet a good sum of money you've never had the Jade variety of Green Beans then. If you have a garden, give them a shot.

To be clear, I haven't eaten most of this stuff for about twenty years. Well, baked beans and cole slaw are still regularly featured, but those are the more 'normal' items on the list.

Canned green beans are absolutely delicious.

Fresh green beans CAN be absolutely delicious but they can also be mildly flavorful conduits for hard stringy spines.

Onions for me are a no go; but I love onion rings.

I hated raw onions until about 3-4 months ago and now I can’t get enough raw onion in salads and burgers.

Places are always trying to put grilled onions on a burger, but I want the texture of raw onions.

When I was a kid, I didn't like pickles, but I always let them put pickles on my burger because I liked the taste of the brine so I'd remove them myself...
