Official List of XX-B Free Agents

    --MLBPA

Per Article XX-B of the CBA, any player on an MLB Reserve List who has accrued at least six years of MLB Service Time and who is not signed for the following season becomes a free-agent at 9 AM (Eastern) on the first day after the final game of the World Series. *For an international player who has accrued service time with a foreign "major league" club or clubs prior to signing a "first contract" with an MLB club, any service time accrued while on the active roster of a foreign club(s) may be considered when determining Article XX-B contractural rights & eligibility.

An Article XX-B MLB free-agent who signs a Major League contract after 11:59 PM (Eastern) on the 5th day after the final game of the World Series receives automatic "no trade" rights that extend through June 15th of the following season, even if the player re-signs with his former club.

If an Article XX-B MLB free-agent signs a minor league contract at least ten days prior to MLB Opening Day, and then is either not released by 12 PM (Eastern) on the 5th day prior to MLB Opening Day or added to an MLB Reserve List (40-man roster) or MLB 60-day Disabled List by 12 PM (Eastern) on MLB Opening Day, the player automatically receives a $100,000 retention bonus, and the player can unilaterally opt-out of the minor league contract on June 1st if he has not been added to an MLB Active List (25-man roster) or an MLB Disabled List by that date.

You do a lot of work compiling these lists Kinsm - it is appreciated and adds value to the site!
99% of all numbers only tell 33% of the story so when looking at the numbers remember that numbers is plural...

    Pearce was a typo.

Sabathia isn't on the list because he signed prior to my initial posting on 11/10/18, as did a few others like Freese, Kershaw, Gardner, Wainwright, etc.. Those players have no bearing on the XX-B list as of that date.

Re: Official List of XX-B Free Agents

By my count, there were 158 players eligible as Article XX-B Free Agents on November 10th, 2018.

In the roughly 14 weeks since then, 10 of those players have retired, 66 of those players have signed guaranteed major league contracts for 2019, and an additional 31 of those players have signed minor league contracts with spring invites for 2019 (these players receive automatic opt out clauses and retention bonus clauses in their contracts). Leaving 51 of those players still without a home for the 2019 season; including heavy weights like Bryce Harper, Manny Machado, and Craig Kimbrel.
