Steep price the Cardinals gave up for a stud. If the Reds are looking at the Indians Kluber, anything less than two of the Reds top five prospects won’t get it done.

If you think small, you'll go nowhere in life.
I’m guessing the Cards think they have a really good shot at extending him. That is a pretty hefty price tag.
Actually, I think that was a borderline heist for a guy like Goldy.
Our division just became a lot tougher. Ho hum.

Dang, now that he's a Cardinal, I must hate him.

Now I feel reasonably confident that the Padres will escape the NL West cellar in 2019.

Time to go after Greinke.

St. Louis is a giant market. The tiny Reds can’t be judged against the big coastal/Missouri teams.

Ouch. Definitely not news you want to hear as a Reds fan.

I disagree. The Cardinals paid a pretty good price to get him on a one-year deal. Now, I expect them to probably sign him to an extension but they'll have to pay up for that as well or he'll test free agency next year. I don't look forward to facing him but he'll be 31 next year. I'm very interested to see what an extension for him looks like.
I honestly don't think it's that steep of a price. The Cardinals traded away guys that appear to be easily replaceable for them.
Good trade for the Cardinals.

To me a steal for the Cards
