You also know that most Coaches in the NFL are lemmings, rarely coming up with their own ideas about doing things. Rehashing those who come from "trees" spins the same lemmings circulating around the NFL. Anarumo doesn't come from any tree. It's 100% likely that he comes up with something fresh and can see things from a perspective the "tree" Coaches simply can't because of their lack being stuck in doing things a certain way. It's why Belichick always wins. He never follows the crowd and is always the first to recognize rule changes and adjust accordingly.
Zimmer was 44 when he got his first NFL defensive coordinator gig in 2000. He also already had 7 years experience as a defensive coordinator in college including 4 with Washington State. Not a good comparison at all.

Doesn't matter. 53 is young, especially for someone who doesn't have bad habits like most of the regurgitated hash that represents NFL Coaching. It's a positive asset of Taylor and a positive asset of Anarumo. Anarumo, btw, is healthier than most 20-year olds.

    From Rotoworld with Rotoworld comments:

Colts beat writers expect the team to have interest in impending free agent S Landon Collins. Three Colts beat writers -- George Bremer, Mike Chappell, and Joel Erickson -- all tweeted virtually the same thing within minutes Wednesday afternoon after ESPN's Josina Anderson reported Collins cleaned out his locker at Giants headquarters and said goodbyes to other members of the organization. The safety position is extremely important in Colts DC Matt Eberflus' defense, and Colins is a top talent and just turned 25. The question is whether the Giants use the franchise tag on Collins to keep him from reaching the open market.

    SOURCE: George Bremer on Twitter

I would love to see Landon Collins become a Bengal. They don't get any better, and his Secondary Coach recently has been...Anarumo.

I'm ready for the season. Got my Bengals hoody on as the weather Sunday at Manzanita was constantly changing. Parked in the Bay we woke up with an inch of snow on the roof. It was rainy and windy the Evening before. We were about to face a day of mostly blue sky and calm, but for a while was rainy with 30 mph winds.

Can proudly wear the Bengals gear with a new Dawn ahead.

Why would some 50 something suddenly have "it", or any other attribute besides being in Taylor's good old boys club.

Really seems like the Reds and Bengals are headed in opposite directions.

I'm guessing QB with the 1st pick next season, and I do have a lot of faith in Tobin getting that right. What happens after that looks more Steakhouse than Super Bowl to me though...
My guess is that there will be more asst coaching changes on this team next yr. Did we ever hear how many years Taylor got?

The Cincinnati Bengals have hired Giants secondary coach Lou Anarumo as their Defensive Coordinator. New Bengals Head Coach Zac Taylor and Anarumo worked together in Miami

Man, I really don't think this guy knows what he is doing, or has any real credentials to run this team.

    Obviously, I hope I'm wrong.

He certainly has assembled one of the most inexperienced coaching staffs I can remember. It's a far cry from what most expected when he was hired. But it is what it is. I suppose there is still a chance he brings his father-in-law in as assistant head coach, otherwise as a Bengals fan you should just hope he is nearly as smart and as ready as he thinks he is. This looks like a really big roll of the dice. Hopefully it will pay off.

    1. Browns may still be the Browns, but man they look locked and loaded at this point.
    2. Ravens will be good until Jackson gets hurt. I'd guess week 8?
    3. Steelers are due for an off year but if Ben stays healthy anything can happen.
    4. How long until Zac Taylor opens his own steakhouse? Until then, someone tell me how the Bengals resemble anything better than last place at this point.
Maybe Im the only one who thinks this but Jackson doesnt make the Ravens better.

Totally agree...gimmick offense with a qb who can't hit the broadside of the barn. Baltimore won due to a ground and pound approach...Jackson won't last long in this league getting hit like that.

Pitts is in total disarray, with both Bell and Brown leaving...Ben will be exposed as will JuJu.

and the Browns will exciting have a brand new HC with as much experience as Taylor.

    Division is wide open.

We wanted a clean sweep and here it is folks this is what life after Marv looks like...I am excited though to see how it shakes out experience doesn't matter much to me Marvin had 17 yrs here...quality counts. I like Taylor and am willing to give it a shot.

I think all are willing to give him a chance. But the beginning of his tenure has been rather. . . meh.

We all have images of what everybody else on here looks like. I was spot on with you except I always pictured darker hair. Thanks for sharing, jacket looks great on you!

Nobody talks about why a guy with - how many fumbles?- is starting a playoff game...
