    Source: Odrisamer Despaigne has a minor-league deal with #Reds.

    Despaigne, 31, split 2018 between the #Marlins and #Angels, pitching 39 innings across 19 appearances for a 6.69 ERA and a 4.31 FIP. Journeyman had elected free agency in November after rejecting an outright assignment to LAA affiliate Triple-A Salt Lake.

    We resigned Mason Williams as well. I wonder if he will get a look for the CF spot?

    Bobby Nightengale
    @nightengalejr

    #Reds signed RHP Felix Jorge to a minor-league contract with an invite to big-league camp, per source. He made 2 starts for the Twins in 2017.
    “I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

    Re: 2019 Minor League Transactions

    In case you were wondering: From SB Nation.

    The winner of the annual “Most Likely to Just Be Called “Yo” By Scott Servais” award goes to Johendi, succeeding last year’s winner Yovani Gallardo. The 25 year-old Jiminian works a fastball with plus velocity that pushes into the upper nineties. That fastball should play better than it does, but despite mixing in a decent changeup and what appears to be a low-80s slider on video, Jiminian’s numbers fail to whelm. His AAA numbers do come in the clown shoes offensive stronghold that is the PCL, and his home stadium of Albuquerque is around 5,100 feet above sea level, but he’s been inconsistent at best regardless. He’s been a low leverage/long reliever since his conversion from starting when he moved to AA, and his mix of pitches combined with strong stamina make him a passably intriguing pitcher. Mechanically, there is a lot of herk and a bit of jerk, and it’s not impossible to envision some work there leading to better results from the young Dominican.
    Speed thrills.

    Moscot hasn't pitched since 2016. Does anyone know about his health?

    Hernan might be the oldest player in the minors this year.

    He's 35 - not quite as old as many seem to think, but up there in minor league years (not Corky or Mike Hessman level, though).

    I'm shocked he is back but happy to have him. With any significant playing time, he will break the Bats franchise hit record, which I would love to see.
