    Re: 2019 NFL Season

    From Rotoworld with Rotoworld comments:

Coach Ron Rivera said Curtis Samuel is "lightyears" ahead of where he was as a rookie.

Samuel, the 40th pick in the 2017 draft, missed a bunch of time to injury as a rookie before enjoying a second-year leap in 2018. This season, Samuel has been the talk of Panthers camp and is looking like a prime third-year breakout candidate. Some have even suggested Samuel could be Carolina's No. 1 receiver ahead of D.J. Moore when all is said and done. Samuel has been a riser up fantasy draft boards and is currently being selected in the ninth round.

    From Rotoworld with Rotoworld comments:

Damien Williams (hamstring) returned to practice Wednesday.

Williams missed 10 days of work after going down early in training camp. Coach Andy Reid sounded frustrated when discussing the injury last week, but Williams is good to go well ahead of Week 1 and just needs to avoid setbacks. That's always easier said than done with hamstrings. However, Williams should be right back in the back-end RB1 mix when the season kicks off.

    Re: 2019 NFL Season

    From Rotoworld with Rotoworld comments:

According to Michael Shawn-Dugar of The Athletic, Chris Carson "continues to look like the best running back" on the Seahawks' roster.

Building off a breakout 2018 that saw him rush for over 1,000 yards, Carson has reportedly been a standout at Seahawks training camp. Sophomore Rashaad Penny has also shown well this summer, though in Shawn-Dugar's estimation, "he's just not at the same level as Carson right now." Penny has time to make up ground with the regular season still over a month away, but at present, Carson seems to have a fairly comfortable lead in Seattle's backfield race. Currently being drafted as the RB26 in fantasy, the third-year ball-carrier looks like a bargain at his fifth-round ADP.

If the Texans traded for Duke Johnson earlier today, why is he running the ball for the Browns tonight?? What am I missing here?

D’Earnst Johnson was running the ball. He’s a undrafted rookie from USF.

    From Rotoworld with Rotoworld comments:

Eagles acquired LB Eli Harold from the Bills for OT Ryan Bates.

It's a rare player-for-player preseason trade. Harold was on a one-year flyer with the Bills, but he was buried behind Jerry Hughes, Trent Murphy and Shaq Lawson. He'll have a clearer path to snaps in Philly.

Jets lost their best Defensive player for the year.

    From Rotoworld with Rotoworld comments:

Avery Williamson's MRI confirmed a torn ACL in his right knee.

The injury occurred when Williamson collided with teammate Tevaughn Campbell during Thursday's preseason game in Atlanta. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms that Williamson will miss all of 2019. It's a big loss for the Jets as Williamson, the team's defensive play-caller, was credited with a team-high 121 tackles last season while earning PFF's No. 8 run-stopping grade among inside linebackers.

    Re: 2019 NFL Season

If a team isn't throwing the ball 40+ times the first six weeks of the year against these guys, they have a fool for a Coach.

    From Rotoworld with Rotoworld comments:

Updating a previous item, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Cardinals CB Robert Alford suffered a fractured tibia in the second preseason game.

Alford is expected to miss the first half of the season but will likely be a candidate to return from I.R. at some point. Arizona is in big trouble at cornerback the first six games with Alford now out and Patrick Peterson suspended six weeks. Tramaine Brock, who has played for multiple teams the last couple years, and second-round rookie Byron Murphy now top the depth chart.

    Re: 2019 NFL Season

    From Rotoworld w/ Rotoworld comments:

    NFL reinstated WR Josh Gordon.

This is one of the quickest turnarounds we've seen from the league after Gordon applied for reinstatement earlier this month. Gordon missed the final two games of the regular season and three playoff games last year, so his latest violation only resulted in a five-week suspension. Starting this weekend, Gordon can attend meetings and participate in individual workouts. He needs to clear some hurdles before he can practice and play in games, but this is obviously great news. Gordon's return is a boost for Tom Brady but clouds New England's receiver depth chart, potentially cutting into first-round WR N'Keal Harry's snaps.

A rare in-division trade: Bills are trading C Russell Bodine to the New England Patriots, sources tell @Marcel_LJ and me.

Bodine is the third OL the Patriots have traded for this week.

I wonder what must have happened to the NE OL?

The Bills must be ecstatic, after throwing $2.5 million for him into the toilet last year, they get relieved of the other 2.5 due him this season. And, they get NE's 6th in 2020.

David Andrews, NE's starting center, has blood clots and is likely out for the year. I don't think Bodine will start, but they need depth

With Brady's quick release time, they only need someone who can block for 2.6 seconds.

McCoy finally waived. Can't believe how long he has lasted.
