Lamar Jackson was in the top 5 in the MVP race BEFORE last night. It's definitely not an overreaction to one game.

The same is true for the Ravens. They win no matter who they have.

Trent Dilfer didn't win a Super Bowl any more than the Ravens' waterboy won a Superbowl, or Peyton won a Superbowl with the Broncos.

2 TD's and 3 Interceptions against teams with winning records doesn't really scream MVP to me right now.

Perhaps not, but he outplayed the current leader in the MVP race in Russell Wilson in Seattle in his last outing. And when you add 637 rushing yards and 5 TDs to that total....well, you have a guy who's in the top 5 of the MVP race.

They were 24-27 in games Flacco started from 2015 to 2018.

And, what was their end-of-season results over those four seasons. That's all that matters. Don't cherry-pick statistics. Don't forget to include the Superbowl Championship Trophy when you're counting.

How many TD passes did Russell Wilson throw yesterday?

Are we going to pretend Wilson's performance against Tampa is more impressive than Jackson's against New England? Really?!?

But anyway, the point isn't that Jackson is better than Wilson. No one is making that claim. The point is that he's the best QB from the 2017 draft. Frankly, pretty low praise at this point.

    Re: 2019 NFL Season

Lamar is awesome, and clearly has performed better than the other QBs from the 2017 draft. The funny thing is that Baker, Darnold, and Rosen were considered the obvious safe picks, but Josh Allen and Lamar have been better so far. Lamar is also in by far the best situation. That's not to take anything away from Lamar, but I would imagine the other guys would look a lot better than they currently do if they were on the Ravens.

I don't think the Bengals should have taken Lamar, mainly because I don't think they would have been able to maximize his talents. He went to the perfect place with the perfect OC in Greg Roman. It's annoying to watch the Ravens when you're rooting against them because it doesn't seem like they're running anything complicated, but little drop offs to TEs or FBs always seem to be available. And the variety in the run game means they almost always pick up at least a few yards, which helps them stay in 3rd and manageable consistently.

Lamar, more than probably any other QB, is very dependent on the system. As a passer, he's probably the most limited starting QB. But his elite running ability opens up all kinds of non-traditional options. If he went to a team that wasn't committed to building specifically around him, it wouldn't work. I still think what the Ravens are doing is unsustainable unless Lamar gets better as a passer, but it's certainly a lot of fun, and I think better than anybody could have imagined after 1.5 years. They're very hard to prepare for, but I think teams can start to adjust as they get more used to the style. Even in the Bengals game they didn't really do anything after the 1st quarter. It'll be interesting to see if they get to play the Patriots again in the playoffs.

New England has the league's best Defense. So, no.

So it looks like the NFL is trying to push the Chargers across the pond.

Can we call them the London Sillynannies?

No the Raiders still need that extra pseudo home game every year with them in LA! Anyone shocked to see the Chargers going no where in LA?

And to an earlier point I wish to apologize to Randall Cunningham for forgetting about him in the list of QBs that could run.

Pretty cool to see Witten proudly wear his Tennessee power T on his helmet last night:

I guess the NFL is encouraging college decals on their helmets right now through this program:

Davante Adams is finally healthy (not on the final injury report), at least for one game. Carolina has the #3 Pass Defense in the NFL per DVOA, but Rogers should still tear it up now that he finally has a decent Receiver who is healthy.
