Greene was a top 20 prospect on last year’s lists right? Ouch.

Quick question for those in the know... did any of the players recently traded make either top 100/101 list (e.g. jeter downs, shed long...)

Seems kind of meaningless to me. He's either hurt or he's still awesome. Averaging the two outcomes doesn't tell us much.

As I have said all off-season, we do not know Hunter Greene’s situation. My expectation is that in a best case scenario, he starts the season in extended spring and gets going shortly thereafter with Daytona. But you don’t know until he starts facing hitters. Throwing in the bullpen is one thing, but until he starts pitching to guys trying to make teams, when he is truly “finishing” every pitch, you don’t know. And it is the second game that is telling. I see pitchers sit out for a while trying to rehab and come back and the first game is fine, but then they have to come back on the fifth day and sometimes they just can’t do it. I remember in 2017, Desclafani made his first rehab start and went four scoreless innings and looked great. Then five days later, he pitched again, same league, and I think he gave up eight runs without getting out of the first inning. He couldn’t finish his pitches and everything he threw was a meatball for the hitter. And that was it for his year.

I am not suggesting anything negative, I am saying we don’t know, especially in light of the history of the “facts” with this player’s injury.
