From what I understood, the teams did not have individual owners. Every franchise was owned by the league.
http://www.espn.com/espn/story/_/id/...eague-was-ideaIn a suit filed Friday, Robert Vanech, the co-founder and current CFO of Trebel Music, said he had a "handshake agreement" with Ebersol that was violated. Vanech is seeking financial damages, equity in the league and "public acknowledgment of his co-founding role." He says he should have 50 percent ownership of the league.
I wonder if this guy still wants 50% of the league? I'd say let him have it and he can be responsible for 50% of its obligations now
Not sure if it was in the links, but I heard on local radio here Orlando Apollos owed UCF 1 million in stadium fees and a local hotel (Apparently they stayed in Jax a lot), for almost all their nights.

Seriously I'm wondering what didn't go according to plan? They knew what their expenses would be. They knew what money they were getting from CBS and all. What threw this out of whack?
The AAF sought a merger with the XFL but Vince turned them down.

Interesting that this league not only didn't get money from being on tv, it actually was paying these networks to carry them. No wonder they could get by on so little commercial time. This is a horrible business model. I wonder if XFL is also paying networks to carry their games?
Wait, all football leagues, except the NFL, have failed since the 60s, and you are pounding your chest saying I told you so? I think it would have been a much larger shock, if it worked.
WHEN DOES IT STOP!?!?
Are you talking to me or the mouse in your pocket? Do you have anything to say about football or just negative personal comments?
What this league did was nothing special. I figured (incorrectly) that they secured national tv deals that gave them an income stream. That was not the case. Apparently they paid these networks to have their games on the air. Well anyone with deep pockets can do that but it's not a sustainable business model.
So I ask, does XFL have a tv deal that'll give them an income stream?
