I haven't heard Thrall yet. I didn't even know he was part of the broadcast team. I am assuming he is being groomed to take over for Marty next season?
I also noticed Danny Graves is part of the broadcast team as a fill in. I assume he will have his own unique way to chastise any fan criticism of his calling of games?

I wasn't able to catch a lot of the game, but was impressed by him. I sat there for several minutes trying to figure out who the guy was. I almost convinced myself it was Jim Day, but that clearly wasn't the case.Originally Posted by icehole3
Thrall seems like a guy that paints a picture, sticks primarily to the action, and can provide some solid insight and humor when necessary. Thrall and the Cowboy had a nice rapport, too. In short, I want to hear more from him.

I listened to most of the game and I liked him a lot. Look forward to hearing more.
After Marty announced his retirement last month and said in an article that he thinks Thrall might be the guy to replace him I looked him up on Youtube and was pretty impressed.

I think I heard him yesterday when I was driving home. He sounds somewhat like Thom but not in a bad way. He sounded good to me but it was a small sample size.

I could be wrong (I often am), but for those folks who watched Pensacola games on MILB.TV the past few years, I'm pretty sure he was the voice you heard. He sounded familiar to me because of that, and I have liked what I've heard thus far. Put me in the positive column on this one.

I actually like him a lot. Pretty awkward today though when he was on with Marty. Thrall brought up the new “opener” strategy and I cringed the whole time. I was just like, “man, don’t even go there with Marty.”
