Reed and Stephenson are frustrating in different ways.

With Reed, at least I believe he's trying.

Well, apparently I should be thankful they didn't broadcast the game live on TV.

I'm hoping a change of scenery trade where he's thrown in a deal for a big league upgrade somewhere. Reed, Wandy and Ervin for Tony Watson. Watson would be the top lefty in the pen.

Just got in. Looks like a good day at the ol' ball yard for Cody Reed, eh?

Mahle was way better than Castillo in the first half last year. So Mahle starting with the Reds may not be the worst idea.

Castillo issue seems to be that he is way better out of the wind up than the stretch.

Don't know if this was posted already, but Rangers and Giants played a 9-inning 0-0 Final today. Don't remember ever seeing that.

Mahle wasn't better than Castillo at any point last year. Even when he was pitching well, his FIP was still over 5.

That's so true for so many, but it's rarely taken into consideration.

Is Disco's spot so secure that Mahle can't take it?

Jesus Reyes has looked good so far. He's still westbound and down to AAA.

Probably not, but Disco has a 0.00 ERA for the spring also, with lower WHIP, and avg. Our 5 starters:

    1. Gray - "injured"... yet to pitch
    2. Woods - 27.00 ERA after 1 inning
    3. Roark - 3.86 ERA
    4. Castillo - 20.25 ERA after 2.2 innings
    5. Disco - 0.00 ERA

So it would not seem based on the early going that Disco is the most vulnerable. (That could change in a blink of the eye with small sample size).

I agree on both counts but he might be on short leash.

I suspect everyone outside the top five is pitching to be first on deck for when a slot opens up.
