Local sports in town was forthright.... should throw the book at Huffman but let Lori Loughlin off with a slap on the wrist because she's hot...

This is probably the least of their concerns but the NCAA is going to get their claws into this mess too. Most of these sports are smaller ones but I saw where USC football was involved too.

I really think this is the tip of the iceberg. Feds are actively involved in college athletics.

I was under the assumption that famous rich people just made donations to schools so their kids could get accepted. I had no idea there were extravagant mail fraud schemes like this.

I doubt that any revenue sport was involved in this, too much visibility. As a former college rower, I'm here to tell you that can fly right under the radar.

I did see something about a kid whose father was trying to get him into USC as a kicker.

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...al/3142693002/

“I’m gonna make him a kicker/punter and they’re gonna walk him through with football,” Singer said in a voicemail left with Bill McGlashan, a private equity firm executive who was seeking to get his son into Southern California. “I’ll get a picture and figure out how to Photoshop and stuff, so it looks like it, and the guy who runs the biggest kicking camp is a good friend.”
Maybe USC football isn't directly involved but the program may have the NCAA looking at it with a microscope. I'm sure the athletic department as a whole will be under scrutiny.

It's absolutely disgusting that the unremarkable kids of the wealthy get pushed through to elite schools and, eventually, elite positions with the power to legislate and judge whether minorities and the poor work hard enough and are exceptional enough to earn a living wage or a healthy body. Think about these 700+ families from ONE known fraud network and then think about every rich guy who has given a lecture about their hard work and being a self-made man. It'd be comedic if it wasn't so destructive.
