The crowd dynamic got really weird (in a fun way) around the 14th inning, and the remaining 150-200 fans who stuck around had a blast. The Clippers started giving away free swag to fans. They would call a seat number (someone in the press box obviously had a pair of binoculars to guarantee that the seat was in use), and that person would win a gift card. (My buddy got a gift card for a fleece at Old Navy.) Everybody was getting goofy; I can't even remember who won, but it was a lot of fun!
I believe that Ted Turner gave every fan who stayed until the end of a very long extra inning game (it might have been the one cumberlandreds posted about) season tickets to the next season. I believe there were only around a few dozen fans left.

I don't want to see ties or games called after a certain number of innings. However, since pace of play and shorter games are all the rage, how about playing 12 innings then at the end of 12, it becomes a suspended game due to be made up before the next game? Fans supposedly like doubleheaders so this wouldn't be an official doubleheader but it's extra baseball. Exceptions would be made for getaway days and the game would be re-started the next time the visiting team is in town.
