At least the Cubs aren't ahead of the Reds.

I'm gonna focus on a positive and say that these 10 days of baseball, even with all the losses, has me feeling pretty good about the rotation and specifically its future. Castillo and Mahle look like they can potentially take big steps forward and Sonny flashed what he's really capable of and why locking him up for only $10 mill annually could pay big dividends (as long as he can get comfortable in a home uniform). Disco was a mixed bag with a good start and a dud, but so far he's healthy and seems capable of holding down a spot.

Obviously it's early and health and consistency will be important. And the rentals, Roark and Wood, are still TBD overall. The bullpen is kind of a big question mark (and potential mess), but getting the rotation right makes that task easier.
I dont care, Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. Hes in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.

I'm happy with the brawl. I'm happy Dietrich took some time to admire his 2nd homer. Play with some attitude.

The Starting Pitching the first time through the order. We scored 5+ runs each of the last two games. The Minor leagues have some promising players just two years away.

I am happy to see Iglesias find his stuff.
Well, that's what those words mean. He was here. If they don't keep him, he will have been lost/subtracted. I headed out the door today with two shoes on my feet. If I don't return with them, I have lost them. If I do return with them, I haven't added them. ---M2

<Confesses to glancing at the standings because the Reds won two in a row>

<Sees the Reds are only four back>

    -weirdly gets happy-

I’m happy the pitching has done so well and the bats are heating up.

This just frustrates me more than anything honestly- with just a LITTLE offense, they could be in first by that same margin right now.

Oh well, at least things are looking up from the 1-8 start.

Yeah, Dietrich has the right mentality for this team. They just need to jell. Give em some time.

Hard to tell, but there are signs that the new coaches are having an impact.

Particularly the pitching hasn't allowed many homers. A few other things.

Some of it just may be small sample, but the Reds desperately needed to improve the 2018 homer differential between Reds and opponents.

I am happy that get to play the Marlins five more times this year (today and four in Florida in August).
