Pitching, yes. Offense, absolutely. Defense, no comment.

    Per Elias

---Only two teams in history have come back from a 1-8 (or worse) start to make the playoffs: the 2011 Tampa Bay Rays and the 1995 Cincinnati Reds.

Would be interested to know how many 1-8 or worse teams finished .500 or better. Or what percentage of such teams finished .500 or better.

Id really like to see Winker hitting lower down the order. Struggled last year leading off and struggling this year leading off. He had a lot of success when he first came up and last year when hitting further down the order. Guess that makes too much sense though.

One issue is Reds don’t really have a lead off hitter other than Winker. Schebler did pretty well there last season, I’d use him, but he certainly isn’t a prototype lead off man. Peraza is too much of a free swinger..

Castillo is really special when he is on...3 up, 3 down with 2 Ks in the top of the 1st.

Winker going after the 1st pitch, yet again.

Winker really needs to stop swinging at the first pitch

and then Votto swings at the first pitch and gets a double
