Okey sent from AAA to Greeneville

Reds signed the prodigal son Stuart Turner back to AAA and assigned Okey to Greeneville. Which is a way of saying he's not on any team now. He's Finnegan's personal catcher out in Arizona.

Yet another great second-round pick by Chris Buckley.

I wonder if he was sent there work on totally overhauling his swing mechanics or something?

I think it's their version of Billy Mumy sending him to the cornfield.

I would like to read an article written by Okey about his career after it’s over in a couple months.

I honestly feel bad for him. There is just not being good enough and then there is failing at this kind of level. He’s legit one of the worst performing players in all of minor league baseball. Which, I feel like can only happen if you are a high draft pick because you get a lot more chances than late draft picks while having high expectations.

Sure, he got a signing bonus in the millions, so boo hoo or whatever, but imagine failing to this extent with your life’s dream and having to go get a normal job at like 25. Has to be hard.

Okey is in the lineup for the Lookouts tonight.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

I could live comfortably off of that money at his age, the rest of my life, without ever having to "get a job" again, provided it was saved and properly invested of course. But yeah, hopefully he's living off of interest or has a plan.
