Most everyone on this thread took exception to the original sentiment - younger and older. So...I guess?
Well, that's what those words mean. He was here. If they don't keep him, he will have been lost/subtracted. I headed out the door today with two shoes on my feet. If I don't return with them, I have lost them. If I do return with them, I haven't added them. ---M2

I watch baseball for entertainment. I like to watch my team appear like they are enjoying the game, having fun, and excited to win. More celebrations please.
Plus, Pete Rose was cocky as hell and jawing at the other team mercilessly. Johnny Bench was gunning down runners from his knees because he could. Joe Morgan was flapping his chicken wing at the plate and punishing the opposition on the bases. When the BRM came to your town, they kicked your tail and flaunted it in your face.

Bring us first place in the standings sometime between now and September and I'll be very excited and ready to see them all go ballistic with celebrations. In the meantime it feels kind of like a big nothing burger over 1 game still in dead last with a team batting average to match.
So what place do they have to be in in order to celebrate? 4th? 3rd? 2nd? If they are in 1st and they don't have the best record can they still celebrate?

This is one of the most unbelievable threads I've ever seen on here. I've been reading for a while. I'm speechless.

    Get off your lawn

It was an exciting finish against a rival whose fans had taken over their stadium (again) and right after being shutdown the previous game and coming back in extra innings the next night - hell yes that is the time to celebrate!

PS: I turn 51 next week and glad to not be a grumpy old baserd

Just want to add, Puig going bonkers over games like last night is one of the main reasons why I was so happy to see him join the Reds. Love that. Bat lick. Bat flip. Yasiel, you are my Batman.

Sisters of Mercy would never celebrate a walk of game winner. Well, unless it perhaps involved Leeds United, but I doubt it.

I remember when the BRM players just shook hands after a win and went on their merry ways. These guys all act like they won the World Series, the Super Bowl, the NBA championships and the Stanley Cup in mid May.. It just feels over the top celebrating one game when they're in dead last place still early in the season.
Hey, make it to first place then celebrate.. Last place is nothing to wildly celebrate about IMO.. Then again maybe I'm just getting too old..
you and me both. i blame it on the instant gratification generation. everyone gets a trophy. on the other hand, it's good for the team. you know these young folks...
