Seems strange but not an awful idea. 3rd base was playing way back. Anything harder down the line is probably a no throw

That really was an incredible play. That's probably a hit 9 out of 10 times. I still hate it considering how dangerous a hitter he can be especially against lefties. Live and learn. I doubt we see that again anytime soon.

Maybe this has something to do with what Jim Day was saying about media members not allowed to root for the team. I didn't know that.

I don’t know that it is because that’s the second time I’ve seen a Reds hitter bunt with RISP like that in the last couple weeks. I remember Puig doing it as well, so it seems like it’s a team strategy to whip that out occasionally.
And I hate it.
I hated that bunt attempt but if he pulls it off he’s a hero genius
I probably prefer that he’s swinging away there, but it wasn’t a terrible idea. Took a phenomenal play to retire him.
Another thing to consider is you have a chance for two runs with a “normal” base hit. Playing for one there seems a bit odd.
