Lavelle is the best player on the pitch right now.

The broadcast team said she wasn't running in warm ups, so she might be injured.

Rose is my cousin’s daughter. Big time family pride right now.

That's great. As you know, there have been rallies on Fountain Square.

Ellen White with a brace to even things up.

Nope. Looks like it was overturned by VAR.

    Weak penalty. Weak.

    Edit: Stones. Huge stones.

That was a super fun game with a little bit of everything. Glad the right team won.

Alex Morgan scoring what is ultimately a game winner and celebrating by pretending to drink tea against England is amazing.

Thank you USA. The English media hype had become intolerable.

Why is this a great save? She moves her feet laterally a few steps, and jumps more vertically than horizontally and gets two hands on the ball. Not reaching, not diving horizontal to the ground. she makes the play she needs to, but the shot’s movement was neither deceptive nor powerful.

It's the penultimate save. I see one hand on the ball. In fact, no hands and only four fingers on the lower half of a ball that was shot from 25 yards out. That they scouted for this and she took away the inside shot forcing the shooter to go to the opposite side and high, a perfectly placed shot, she anticipated the shooter going there and had to come all the way across the goal, dive at a 45-degree angle, not horizontally as you say, and have enough strength in her fingers to stop the momentum of the ball enough to prevent it from overpowering her fingers and going into the goal. The only way she could reach the ball was with her perfectly timed steps, leap and stretch, aided by having forced the shot herself to the spot so she could get a great jump on getting to the spot. Kasey Keller probably landed on the floor in amazement.

The Declaration of Independence was actually formally declared on July 2, 1776, a date that John Adams believed would be “the most memorable epocha in the history of America.”

    It wasn’t signed until August 2, 1776.
