Thankfully to the ear, we wont really notice.

In the mid-90's I was trying to emphasize to businesses that it was necessary, with one copy of their files going underground. There were a couple of South Dakota places where records could be stored safely in case you had a fire, but it was imperative that a second copy of all of your business data be kept off-site.

But, there's no such thing as two "masters" when it comes to music. There's just one master. It had no business in the first place being stored where it was and if anyone should have known that, it was 20th Century Fox. Studios had been using South Dakota to store films before the '90's.

Krist Novoselic believes Nirvana's Nevermind (makes me wonder about In Utero too but wasn't mentioned) was part of the loss.

What an absolute catastrophe, shame on UMG for covering it up.
