Maybe the Reds are doing their version of openers with actual players in the field. Instead of a defensive sub they start with defense. 😃. Has to be more to this story.

Actually, not a double switch - the game was vs. an AL affiliate, so they had a DH. I am not 100% sure why he was removed, but I suspect it was because he did not run out a grounder to third. Not impossible it was an injury, though it was not noticeable from how he ran - it just looked like he did not hustle, to be honest.

Having a nice year so far in the DSL, 2 HR in 4 games and a 1.192 OPS. Ya I know its way early and its the DSL but still he plays a key position CF for the Reds.

HR's are nice, but K rate is critical. His K rate of nearly 32% over AA-AAA last year is scary bad. It's not going to improve when he sees ML sliders and change-ups. On the bright side, his K rate in the DOWL last year was 27%; in this year's small sample, it is down to 16%.
Hopefully, he Aquino's AAA. Then he'll have all kinds of value because he is a true CF.

He does have to survive what seems like it could be an interesting winter on the 40-man first. He's got boatloads of talent, so it will be interesting to see if the Reds can hang on to him.
