Recent Reds (past 20 or so years) you never knew existed till now..

I'd have to put one Marty Brown on my list and the only reason I'm even remotely aware of him is my name is Marty and did a search for players named Marty..

Have fun searching obscure players.. https://www.baseball-reference.com/p...rownma03.shtml

I know it's depressing to consider but 1989 was not 20 or so years ago.

I chose 2008 at random and there were at least 5 names I have zero memory of.

he made a few appearances in 2008 and then in 2011, and I have no idea who Daryl Thompson is.

    He was the last hope.

After all the others, such as the Great Majewski, the ill-fated Bray, and the Shortstop-who-shall-not-be-named had failed, he was the last hope.

(Technically, Bray was active in 2012, but all hope was gone.)

Bray will come back from injury and it’s LIKE we traded for a reliever at midseason.

Daryl Thompson pitched like a king at Yankee Stadium one day. And that was about it.

From 1984 through 1986, the Reds had two pitchers named Mike Smith in their organization. Both were right-handed, and both had the same middle name, Anthony. One of them was from Texas, and the other was from Mississippi. Only one of them, "Mississippi", ever pitched in the big leagues for the Reds. ("Texas" eventually made it to the big leagues with the Orioles.)
Eric Stratton, Rush Chairman. Damn glad to meet ya.

the early 60s mets had 2 bob millers, and they were roomies. both could pick up the phone in the room and say "bob miller speaking."
