Safety Netting

I've been a proponent of extending the netting. I think all the way to the foul poles is a bit extreme/unnecessary, but it's only a minor quibble. I certainly prefer nets all the way to the foul pole to no nets over the dugouts.

I think people are forgetting how dangerous the outfield seats are in regard to home run balls.

If a baby is sitting out there, or if someone is on their phone or whatever, a HR ball could be disastrous.

They need to wrap the netting all the way around the field, and all the way to the top of the highest row.

Sure, that will be the end of fans catching foul and home run balls, but at least we'll all be safe.

No one is talking about the dangers of broken bats in the stands either. The netting they use now would not offer complete protection for fans from broken bat shards.

They need to make the netting much more dense, and it needs to cover the entire stands from top to bottom and all the way around.
