Ehh..not every pitcher is going to be perfect every time. His track record over the years has been pretty good. I think or at least hope last year was a bit of an outlyer instead of the harbinger of things to come. Now if by the ASG of 2020 he's lost 6 games then we'll be in deep dodo.. I don't think that'll be the case
On the other hand my confidence in Bell to do the right thing with the pitching staff isn't exactly at an all time high.

I agree Iglesias has been pretty good. A contending team can’t afford to have a closer who is pretty good.

Sorry, but he was JJ Hoover bad last year.. Bad enough to be a hugequestion mark going into next year. I hope he rebounds, but IMO, he is not "pretty good" at this point.
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

12 losses for reliever is a bad season. Those 12 losses are a result of giving up runs in high leverage situations. You just can't have that in a reliever and your suppossed stopper at that. IMO he has to earn his way back next season into that closer role. The Reds are going to need to totally re-tool that bullpen if they want to have a shot at contending next season and it starts with the closer's role and who will be in it. It just can't be handed to Iglesias.

Iglesias struggled last year, but from a peripheral standpoint, he was essentially the same guy he was in 2018. I am all for going and getting a stopper type arm to install in the closer role, but I’m also confident Iglesias will bounce back if healthy and will be a key late inning piece in 2020.
