It was the right leverage situation call. Just didnít work. Amir has to do his job.

    Crazy great play by Sims

I give Joey grief about his footwork at first but heís always been IMO one of THE best scoopers. Made a great great one today, though wondering why he was mad lol. I thought he might make that face after Amir threw one 103 mph to first to get the out.

Hader was 57 straight outs on hitters when he had them with 2 strikes, crazy....then Iglesias singled

Good series, letís win the next one

Ideally, the Reds should have another competent LHP down there in the pen who could come in that early. Maybe Wandy could have got the job done, but people would have gone ape if Bell went to him and Yelich crushed one.

Well we won the series. I’d be more than happy to win 2 of every 3 the rest of the season.

Cool. So never, ever criticize the manager under any condition. Got it.

One would have to examine the frequency.

    Yeah that’s what I said.

Do you have an actual opinion about Lucas Sims or Amir Garrett or the Brewers hitters who were up? Seems like you have jack to say about anything baseball related besides taking pot shots whenever possible

Itís not like Sims had a bag of magic beans that allowed him to get Yelich out every time. He retired him 2 times in a row, thatís it.

It's not Bell's fault that Garrett couldn't find the strikezone.
I don't blame Bell one bit for calling Amir to finish the innings, but his control is less than I'd like. After the game, I switched over to the Yankees-Twins game where Chapman came in to save the game. He couldn't control the slider and Minnesota tied the game. He couldn't control his fastball. He was a mess. American League hitters wait on the fastball. He no longer has that 105 mph fastball, apparently very often. Amir's act is the same, but Simms was a stop gap starter, so maybe it was time to put in someone with a 1.50 ERA to keep things stopped. It didn't work out, just like it didn't work out for Boonie and the Yankees. WE won the series, and probably that's a good thing. I can criticize Bell, and his many moves bother me, but this one didn't.

Of course it does, but the teams that it happens to the most frequently are much more likely to find themselves at the bottom of the standings.
