    Chris Sale is done for the regular season with elbow inflammation. He will not undergo Tommy John surgery.

    @MarlyRiveraESPN

    Former MLB pitcher Octavio Dotel was arrested in the Dominican Republic as part of what the Office of the Attorney General called the “largest operation against organized crime” in the country. There are no details yet as to why Dotel himself was arrested.

    Besides Dotel, former MLB player Luis Castillo was also arrested as part of the operation, according to the Attorney General of the Dominican Republic, Jean Alain Rodriguez.

    Richard Justice
    @richardjustice

    Alex Bregman's season for @astros...
    .963 OPS (3rd in AL)
    .407 OBP (3rd)
    30 HR (5th)
    94 runs (5th)
    92 BB (2nd)
    83 RBI (10th)
    69 Ks (109th)

    Any other season and he'd be getting MVP consideration. But Mike Trout is doing Mike Trout things:

    1.104 OPS
    .419 OBP
    42 HR
    101 R
    99 BB
    98 RBI
    110 K

    Kudos to Reds pitchers for holding Bregman to 2 hits in 12 ABs and a .647 OPS

    Complete game shutout for Lucas Giolito. Those are rare.

    Tigers with the 1-0 lead on Houston in the 7th. A Tigers win would be the MLB equivalent of UMBC over UVA.

    “Do you believe in miracles?”

    Tigers win. Final out of the game was Chirinos getting thrown out by 10 feet at 3rd trying to stretch a double into a triple. Boneheaded.
