Actually it was pretty smart IMO. May have had a play at the plate plus he had to leap up to get it and dude is 6'5 so hard to judge that not going over his head.
is Van Meter starting @ 2nd Base on opening day next year?
He may be the starting 2b in one hour.

I thought that 4th run might give Castillo a 3rd hitter, but Bell makes the change.

Should have just sent Garrett out...he'll sadly be getting plenty of rest here shortly.
That’s a set play.
Avoid close play at plate by trying to stretch single to double, and drawing the throw.
Sometimes overused, sometimes unnecessary, but there it was good.
